Carrollwood is a growing community just 15 miles northwest of Tampa. Comprised of residential areas and a multitude of shopping centers Carrollwood is an ideal place for many to reside. There are diverse neighborhoods, businesses and several higher education centers which makes Carrollwood a community with a prosperous future.
The community supports many arts and entertainment groups as well as a variety of recreation and leisure activities. There are golf courses, tennis courts, parks, horse racing, a variety of shopping areas and fine restaurants. It's only a short drive to Florida State University.
Because of its central location in the Tampa area many of the attractions are easily accessible. Within minutes from Busch Gardens, Lowry Park Zoo and Ybor City there is something for everyone. There are theaters, art centers, gambling casinos and boat trips to explore. Several beaches, including those at Clearwater, Dunedin and Tarpon Springs are less than an hours drive away. Dont forget the sports! A short drive from Carrollwood will take you to football, hockey and baseball games, both professional and college level.
For weekend getaways take a trip to Universal Studios at Orlando, Walt Disney World, or catch the races at Daytona Beach. There is always something to do and somewhere to visit in Florida and Carrollwood is convenient to many of these attractions.

Carrollwood boundaries include Lake Magdalene to the north, Tampa to the east, Egypt Lake to the south, and Citrus Park to the west.
History
Like other suburban communities around Tampa , Carrollwood was built in the early 1960's. The community spread westward during the 1970's and 80's and subdivisions of Fairway Village and Carrollwood Village were created.
