Madeira Beach real estate is located at 27°47′45″N , 82°47′26″N (27.795853, -82.790623) GR1 . According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 8.5 km² (3.3 mi² ). 2.7 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and 5.8 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 68.50% water.

Demographics

As of the census GR2 of 2000 , there are 4,511 people, 2,528 households, and 1,122 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,691.0/km² (4,392.0/mi²). There are 3,976 housing units at an average density of 1,490.4/km² (3,871.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.05% White , 0.27% African American , 0.31% Native American , 0.58% Asian , 0.04% Pacific Islander , 0.67% from other races , and 1.09% from two or more races. 2.37% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,528 households out of which 9.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.6% are married couples living together, 5.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 55.6% are non-families. 42.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.78 and the average family size is 2.36.

In the city the population is spread out with 8.2% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 35.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 48 years. For every 100 females there are 111.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 110.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $36,671, and the median income for a family is $50,833. Males have a median income of $32,353 versus $27,455 for females. The per capita income for the city is $30,097. 9.8% of the population and 4.1% of families are below the poverty line . Out of the total population, 4.1% of those under the age of 18 and 12.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
