Home Values for Palm Harbor Real Estate
I will start out on the high side for Palm Harbor real estate values, due to the fact there is a wide selection of high price property. In most sections of Palm Harbor a typical executive style home with 4 bed, 3 bath and 2 car garage and a pool usually start around $400,000. Prices are obviously more near most of the Golf Courses here in Palm Harbor. Most notably Innisbrook Golf Course, the homes located in side the Gated Communities are considerably higher. You will find a wide variety of housing inside Innisbrook, including Town homes Condos, Mansion's on the Green, large luxury homes and much more.
If you're budget for Palm Harbor real estate is in the $250,000 to $350,000 range, you will be happy to find a very nice selection of homes and real estate. Most homes for sale in Palm Harbor in this price range can be found in one of the many of the nice neighborhoods here in Palm Harbor generally feature 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, 2 car garage and an in ground pool. If a pool isn't wanted, that sometimes limits the housing choices. A lot of homes for sale in this price range have pools, so you could easily eliminate a nice home, so I sometimes recommend, looking at homes with pools just in case.
The lowest budget for the Palm Harbor area is usually around $150,000 to $200,000. Homes in this range are generally 2 bedroom, 1 or 2 Bath and single car garage. These homes are often connected homes or duplex style homes. In the Lake St. George neighborhood, there are often a nice variety of homes in this range. These are great for small families, starter homes or if you are looking for affordable real estate to invest in.

Dining and Shopping in Palm Harbor
Palm Harbor has some great restaurants to enjoy. Thirsty Marlin, located in downtown "Old" Palm Harbor is a hot spot for all the locals. They offer up some great seafood dishes and appetizers at a reasonable price. Lucky Dill is the best place in town to grab lunch and you get a free piece of cheesecake with every meal you buy! Magnolia Grill is just a tiny little restaurant that has some good home cooked meals and the best green fried tomatoes.
Palm Harbor shopping is fun at all the small shopping centers throughout the town. Downtown "Old" Palm Harbor is a great place to shop and eat. Every month, downtown Palm Harbor has a block party with lots of food, live music, art, crafts, and activities for every age. If you are a biker, you will enjoy bike week in Old Palm Harbor. Palm Harbor Parks and Outdoor Living
Palm Harbor is home of numerous city, county, and state parks. If you are looking for a park that is never crowded, then go to Pop Stansell Park. This park has a playground for the kids surrounded by pine trees and palm trees. There are two shelters for cookouts and a bathroom close by. At Pop Stansell Park, you can bring your boat, unload it into the water, and head out to gulf or just go fishing from the dock.
Palm Harbor Lake
If you are looking for the most state-of-the-art brand-new park in Palm Harbor, then you need to check out Wall Springs State Park. This park is always very crowded on the weekends, so you should get there early if you want a good spot. The playground is enormous and completely covered from the sun. There is one big shelter close to the playground and bathrooms are also very close by. Take a walk over to the springs and check out all the fish that swim by. At Wall Springs Park, there are also nature trails, butterfly gardens, board walks, and a 35-foot observation tower that looks out over the water. This 195 acre park is absolutely beautiful!
Palm Harbor real estate is also home to Putnam Park. At this Palm Harbor Park, kids can play soccer, baseball, and tennis. There is also a very small playground for the smaller children to get a little playtime in a totally fenced in area. Anderson Park in Palm Harbor is also a very beautiful park. Located on Lake Tarpon, this park has great views and some shelters right on the water where you can see birds, ducks, turtles, fish, and small alligators. At this park, you will find a great playground for the kids but bring the sunscreen because it is not shaded at all. Bring your dogs to Anderson Park, because they have a special play area called the paw playground. Half of the paw playground is for big dogs and the other half is for small dogs. There are beautiful hills in this park so it is a scenic treat and a fantastic workout.
John Chestnut Sr. Park in Palm Harbor real estate is great especially if you are into hiking. The trail at this park is a combination of nature trail/boardwalk and a footpath around the park lake. John Chestnut Park is part of the Pinellas County Park System. They just recently added a playground for dogs, like the one at Anderson Park. This park has many other great features, such as, grills, picnic tables throughout, two playgrounds, horseshoe pits, beach volleyball court, softball field, water fountains, restrooms, and lots of shade. All of the parks that I have mentioned are free and open to the public all year round.

Old Palm Harbor and Ozona
In the winter of 1877, the city currently known as Ozona was discovered. This area has had many names before becoming Ozona. The earliest name was Bay St. Joseph when a post office was commissioned in 1878. After Bay St. Joseph was used for a few short years, Yellow Bluff became its new name. After a few years with the town's new name of Yellow Bluff, a yellow fever epidemic broke out and gave way to the new town's name of Ozona, meaning “pure air”.
Old Palm Harbor was originally discovered in 1888. Palm Harbor's original name was Sutherland, short for Southern land. The settlers had high hopes for Sutherland to be a prosperous town. Two beautiful hotels were built overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and one of them became the Southern College in 1902. In 1921 Southern College was completely destroyed by a fire and the college was moved away to another campus. Sutherland's name was switched to Palm Harbor in 1925 and currently only two of the original buildings remain him.
All historical information about Palm Harbor can be found at the Hartley house. This historical Museum in Palm Harbor opened in 1998 and is located at 2043 Curlew Road at the corner of Belcher Rd.
